2010 Internship
Position: Copacabana Intern
Duration: 1 year beginning training in June of 2010.
Description: Bolivia's only multi-lingual bookstore and ecotourism outfitter seeks a Copacabana intern who will manage the store full time with a local employee and continue our free English education program with indigenous Aymara youth in Copacabana. Store management involves friendly customer service with travelers from all continents, working with a local full time employee and requires small business skills listed below. In Copacabana we incorporate English language teaching with important public health and youth leadership skills in our weekly program offered free to local youth on basic, intermediate, and advanced levels. The 2010 interns must continue this program and expand The Spitting Llama's community outreach in areas such as public health, environment, and indigenous language learning.

Requirements:
Friendliness, Highly Self Motivated, Cooperation, Spanish Competency,
Interest in Fair Trade, Indigenous Culture, Ecotourism, Community
Education and Small Business Management. We also encourage interns to
study Aymara or Quechua language and culture as this helps in their
work.
Payment: This is a paid internship offering a monthly stipend that helps cover basic local housing and food. Interns gain valuable leadership, community outreach and management experience.
